Green times three

One thing about Oregon in spring - no one can say it isn't green.  Sometimes green and gray, sometimes green and blue, but the pervasive emerald that shines from the grass, the evergreens and the newly budded trees is one of the things that makes living here so great.  It's raining again today (big surprise) but on the preschool run I'm more and more aware of the subtle glow of buds on the trees, the pink and white sprays of cherry and plum blossoms, the bright slant of light even through the overcast gloom.  Spring is here, people, and if you're in the Pacific Northwest, it's a very good thing.

Yup. Than goodness for spring, even with its speed growing lawns in continuous need of mowing, and too short spans of sunshine in which to mow. Rejoice in your shaggy lawn for it means that more sunshine is on its way!

Hello, I'm Anki and I really enjoy reading your blog.

I know this is a "grass is always greener thing" but if there was some way to combine your rain and green profusion with our too, too much sun and boring (yes they are) perpetual blue skies, we'd have the perfect place.

In the meantime I hope you don't mind if I live a vicarious Pacific Northwest life through you. If you want to try a scorched, dried out Western Australian one, you're most welcome!

Love the droplets of water on the blades of grass. Perfect capture!
