Hefalumps

'Tis the season when I am busy as a bee, but have nothing much to show for myself since I can't post most of what I've been making!  BUT...I can show you this silly little elephant I made for no other reason than because I wanted to.  There is something about elephant patterns - I can't resist 'em.  I've made several different elephants in the years since the kids were born (to varying degrees of success) and I'll happily add this pattern to my repertoire.  Isn't he just the bees-knees??  This is the Circus Elephant by Abigail Patner Glassenberg, from the book "More Softies Only A Mother Could Love."  His body is orange felt, ears and feet cotton, the tail is a ribbon and he's stuffed with polyfil; he sports safety-eyes since my embroidery is abysmal.  Currently he is camped out on the sofa but it is only a matter of time before I'll find him smashed beneath the cushions of a living room fort or under a blankie in Aidan's bed (where many of the "funts" seem to end up).  What can I say - the kids have good taste.

The elephant is adorable. Yes, gift giving season is upon us so lots of secret projects are underway.
