Time for soup


I spent a lot of time in the kitchen yesterday - a lot more than usual, which was nice for a change.  Cinnamon-chip scones led to carrot-tomato soup (thanks to a recipe from Soulemama).  It was very subtle, not at all acidic (the way some tomato soups can be) and went well with some crusty three-cheese bread from the bakery.  Mmmmm.  Soup season is the very best season, in my opinion.  Next on the baking/cooking list?  Broccoli soup and chocolate shortbread.  Can I say it again?  Mmmmmmm...

Soup season is my favorite too! We just finished with a potato/cheese/bacon soup tinted purple with cabbage. Mmmmmm.

Sounds good - except the cabbage part... ;) The purple part is nice, though!
