Late-night decorating

Around eleven o'clock last night I suddenly had to make this pillow.  The slightly wonky quilt square is one I'd made last year sometime and had been languishing in the craft closet ever since.  It wasn't quite big enough for a traditional pillow form so there it sat, forlorn.  Then, while I was supposed to be writing, I jumped from the red chair and said, "I simply need a pillow for this red chair!"  Sometimes the greatest ideas come from procrastinating (ahem).  Maybe I didn't get as much writing done as I could, but then I have a super awesome pillow now, right?  The stripey sweater back is from a wool sweater I found at a thrift store - the colors are so similar to the ones in the block it's scary - especially since I didn't buy it with the block in mind.  Must have been some subconscious Jedi-Mind trick or something.  It's stuffed with half a bag of polyfil I had lying around so no need for that pillow form after all.  Fabulous!

Fabulous indeed! I love the sweater backing and how well it goes with the quilt piece. Really, I just love this pillow.
