Tube Socks Rule

I must be getting faster at this knitting thing - it's almost December and I managed to churn out this pair of tube socks for myself. Really, it was kind of a test-knit since I am hoping to make some for people for the holidays. I will be trying my hand at turning a heel come January, but for now tube socks are where it's at!

This was a cheap knit as I already had some practice yarn in the stash (sometimes I think it's ALL practice yarn). It's just a wool/acrylic blend - not even sure why I had it - probably it was on sale is what I'm thinking. Impulse yarn. Still, it has a nice home now - very soft and squishy. I'm curious to see how these will look after a round in the washer/dryer. Another good reason for a test knit. These would make excellent hiking socks (you know, if I hiked) or maybe a pair of cozy bed socks. That's where I was sporting them last night since I finished them right around midnight.

So nice to know that I will never have to worry about my ability to keep myself and my family warm in the event of a new (and pretty sudden) ice age.

I love the tube socks you made! I was thinking about making tube socks last night. I saw a pattern in Interweave and was wondering if they would be comfortable to wear.

Yes - I saw those too! That's what gave me the idea. I love them. Super soft and ridiculously easy.
