Summer Weekend - Part 1

This was a jam-packed weekend. Laundry? Dishes? Vacuuming? It all got left in the dust so we could head out and spend a sunny day at Oaks Park, the old fashioned amusement park down on the Willamette River. And what is summer without sticky fudgcicle all over your person?

Yes, that's an enormous bruise on his forehead from running straight into the cutting board last Wednesday. Luckily it looks worse than it was. As for the shirt, I think I'm going to need a lot of stain remover.

Aidan enjoyed the helicopter balloon sculpture immensely. You really don't see pure joy too often, but you know it when you see it!

We got soaked by jet boats, got dizzy riding on the old rides (especially Nana who will have to stick to the merry-go-round from now on) and got full from hamburgers, ribs and cotton candy. Owen was asleep by the time we crossed the bridge heading for home. The rest of us were in bed by nine (Aidan) and ten completely exhausted by such a wonderful Saturday.

And a grand time was had by all - even the cold sweats and dizzyness were worth it - although my career as a carnival rider is DEFINITELY over!!!
