The blue quilt in the first photo isn't for a pillow, actually. It's my first attempt at handquilting - and boy does that take a loooooong time! Holy embroidery hoops, Batman! Still, it's nice meditative handiwork, and it lets me imagine for a time that I'm one of those with-it homesteading mothers who canned peaches, hung their clothes on a clothesline and strangled their own chickens. (Ew!)

Q is for
Quilts

Well, I'm not working on a quilt per se. But I am making pillow fronts (I don't just knit, you know). I love the color of these pieces (second photo); they'll look just right against my red armchair. I guess I'm on a pillow kick these days. I do have a large quilt in mind (and have purchased several fabrics for it) but it's just so hard to sew with little fingers getting into things. Too much to do in the short space between their bedtime and mine (whenever that is). As my friend over at Two Red Doors asked, "When do you sleep?" Well, there was the half hour drive home from Mom's house last Friday. Does autopilot count??

Mom says: It gives the phrase "wring their neck" a whole other dimension!
