How do I get myself into these situations?

Yep, you guessed it, another auction quilt!  This time it was for Owen's elementary school auction (of which I am, thankfully, not in charge).  The class drew pictures of what they want to be when they grow up, and I have to say I am impressed with the range!  Everything from a scientist to a dress designer to a construction worker (Owen) to a superhero.  They all worked so hard!  I took a bit of a shortcut on this one - instead of hand-sewing the back edge of a binding on, I left the binding out all together and just sewed right sides together.  Before that I did quilt the top to the batting, just to make sure nothing could wiggle around and get bunched up in there.  I know I don't like it when the filling on my sandwich slides out of one side - the same is true for quilts!  To keep the back stuck to the front, I enlisted the help of one of the other moms who agreed to cut lengths of yarn and do ties at the corners of the squares.  So that's me done with quilting for awhile.  Seriously.  No more.  Well, maybe if you ask nicely...
