Today is Owen's first big field trip - on a school bus! With Auntie in tow! Wow, does it get any better than that? They are headed off to the apple orchard to see where the cider is made and how the apples grow on the trees. Big stuff, I tell you. They've been studying seeds and nuts and how trees grow - think they'll cut an apple to find out what's inside? I remember doing that in elementary school and discovering that if the apple is cut just so, there is a star inside. Even in small things there is magic.

He looks happy to be heading off on the bus. That's a fun excursion for a kid and the adults.
