Vacation::Wrap-up

Nothing like a week away to make you appreciate your own good bed (soft sheets!  old squashy pillows!).  We stopped on our way home to check out a sunflower field, to admire the yellow beauties against the blue sky and watch the crickets and grasshoppers leap madly away as we pushed forward through the weeds.  This was not the most restful vacation I have ever taken (one kid got the stomach flu and the beginning of the week, the other at the end, I had a small case of DVT which seems better now, not to mention multiple meltdowns along the way), but it was still a good one.  Now we're back and happy to be home and ready to tackle school supply shopping, meetings, and the general hustle and bustle that is back-to-school time.  Bring it on - we're ready!

Beautiful pictures! It seems at this age that vacations tend to come with a bit of illness and tantrums and difficulties but each year it gets better and better! I had to start thinking of it as a "family trip to make childhood memories" rather than a "relaxing vacation". : )
