Crab cakes for dinner the other night - it must be summertime! I didn't really use a recipe, just sort of winged it, but they turned out really good and conjured up images of dinner at the beach, of deckchairs and the cries of seagulls, of hot weather and sand between the toes. The aioli sauce I whipped up to go with wasn't half bad either. And for dessert?
Chocolate marshmallow cookies from a back issue of Everyday Food. OMG - these things are sick. In a good way (unless you ate too many, than it would be in a literal way). A light, almost spongy cookie topped with marshmallow and drenched in semi-sweet chocolate. Um... whoa. They're like pinwheels (remember those?) but amped up to epic levels of richness. I can barely get through one without feeling twitchy. Yum. :)
