Photo tour: Mom's house

So, like I said, I'm loving this camera.  It's a Nikon D5100 which came with two different lenses (both of which I am just figuring out though I believe one is for general purposes and the other for distance shots).  I feel the way I did when I went from driving an '86 T-bird to a Prius - like this thing is smarter than I am.  It's a little daunting, but I learned to drive the car so I think I can master a camera... right?

Mom's house is full of interesting and pretty things to photograph so I brought my new toy over to her house and snapped away - mostly using the auto setting, but occasionally trying out manual (my goal is to really get the manual setting, to understand the process and be able to consciously decide how I want my photos to turn out).  So enjoy snippets of her happy house and garden (hope you don't mind, Mom!).

Gotta love the blue and white china! Wish I had those deep window ledges. Dana I can see your house is a home with lots of love in it. I would live there in a heartbeat.

Home is a quirky bit of this and that - much of it handed down or hand-made - just don't look too hard - I have a sign that says, "Please don't feed the dust bunnies" - and I mean it!!!
