Easy to make, easier to eat
Chocolate shortbread to soothe the soul. Not that anyone's soul needs particular soothing these days, but Aidan has been feeling a little under the weather so it seemed like the thing to do on a quiet Sunday evening. I had a piece for breakfast today (oh, like you wouldn't) and it was so good. At first I thought maybe I hadn't used enough sugar, but today I think they're just right. Two sticks of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, 4 largish squares of melted bittersweet chocolate, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 cup regular flour. Bake 40 - 50 minutes at 300 degrees. Cool on a rack. Try not to eat the entire thing at once (they really are better the next day).

I'll add that one to the recipe book :) Yummy. What is a stick of butter? How many grams or ounces would be in that?
4 oz per stick!
Yummo!!
