Last Sunday

A bowl of cherries and a library book - the stuff of summer.  Too bad it didn't last.  Two days - the shortest summer in history.  Will it ever come back?  Or will we go right into fall?  Cause that's what it felt like today.  Yesterday we had near total darkness at only one in the afternoon when a big noisy thunder and lightning storm rolled through, turning the street into a river.  Today the clouds were the color of iron, but it didn't stop us from an evening jaunt to the playground down the block.  These light-late evenings are sort of lost amongst the clouds, but we tried to make the most of it.  And the grass was dry enough to sit on, the slides and swings were dry, so life was good.

If you see a crazy girl out on her lawn, in the rain, in a bathing suit... it'll be me doing my "sun dance" in an attempt to appease the gods of summer.  They must be on vacation or something...

Love the picture! Great colors and composition. That book is gorgeous. Also the mental image of you dancing in that rain. Classic.
