The state of things

What you don't see are the millions of hot pink sticky notes also plastered to my computer desk. Between writing and reading my space has become somewhat cluttered, if you will. Part of my problem is it is so darn easy to stack books here, whether they are en route to the shelves or just out for general perusal. The other part of the problem may be that I don't have a writing apartment somewhere. Virginia Woolf said that all women need a "Room of One's Own" but I have to settle for an alcove for now.

Its true! I read that book and I think she's right. You can have my giant closet! It's not too bad. We can put up pretty pictures to make it seem like there are windows. Done!

What a sister! Me, I have a desk of my own. I really don't think it counts. Of course, when prompted, I say things like, "Don't tromp mud all over my floor/my bed/my room." So maybe that is just comeuppance for me.

Sounds like a great plan to me - maybe I can contribute something!
