Today was a stark contrast to yesterday's madness. We watched a bunch of Errol Flynn movies (Robin Hood and Captain Blood are the best) and ate leftover firetruck tires (mini chocolate donuts) for breakfast.
I started a new knitting project with major enthusiasm - more will follow about that - and even got the kitchen cleaned up, some laundry done and toys put away. Oh the toys to put away! Holy moly. He's a super lucky kid; made out like a bandit.
Dinner at MIL's new house tonight - so it's officially broken in! That's my big exciting life...jealous?
On a more adventurous note, Sarah will be hanging out with Ari Shapiro and the band Pink Martini and (I assume) the Decemberists and Blind Pilot at a dinner party Ari's hosting tomorrow - now THAT'S an exciting life! Man! Where do I sign up?

Life is all about trade-offs - beautiful little boys vs a madcap life on the road - each has its own appeal, but they are not interchangeable - however, the future holds many possibilities - little boys grow up and moms can have their own lives again - the footloose and fancy free can become homebodies wearing aprons and tending chickens - who knows?
Most days I'd take beautiful babies, a clean kitchen, and a good cup of coffee over partying like a rock star (does that make me old?) On those days when sunshine through my window just isn't cuttin' it, well, those are the days when we need to call up a good friend and say, "Let's get out of pocket!"
Call me anytime!
