Very Far Away
I received a wonderful present in the mail today: postcards for my collection! From Australia!!! I love postcards. I have postcards from nearly all the vacations my different family members have ever taken. Many are hiding in cookbooks (just like Gramma Joy's did) to be found and enjoyed all over again in the future. Others are taped to the kitchen backsplash and still more are framed on the walls.

This is my favorite - just look at those crazy people dangling out of the windows!!! Brave souls. Reminds me a bit of the Mt. Hood Railroad, though I don't recall any 50 foot drops on that line.

Love the color and sparkle of this one.

Aack! Koala bears! I want one! The lighthouse looks like it belongs in Newport.

What a big city, Melbourne is! I had no idea. I knew Australia was more than just kangaroos and cute guys with great accents, but Wow! Thanks for the present, Lynda!

You are so welcome. Such a surprise to see them up there :) The Puffing Billy one is my favourite one too as it is from where I live at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. He lives just near Kaylee's home and she loves to listen for his whistle. I can't wait till you come visit one day and see beautiful Melbourne for yourself.
Fair dinkum, mate!
