Last night was the meltdown of the century. Owen hasn't thrown a tantrum like that in a long time! It wasn't really even a tantrum, more of a total loss of control. He ran right straight into the front door in the middle of it all and gave himself a big bruise on his forehead. Man! In the end, we took a drive downtown to Mecca (I mean Powells) and that seemed to pacify him. I guess he just really needed a change of scenery!
It's funny, too, because he had a really good day full of painting, playing outside, peanut butter sandwhiches, and Caillou. Oh well - today is another day.
I finally finished the second sleeve of Owen's cardi - but I think the bind-off on the button edge is too tight. I may have to rip it back and redo it...but at least I don't have the dreaded Second Sleeve Syndrome hanging over my head anymore (well, not for THIS project anyway).
Don't you just love the one red tulip Owen picked from our backyard? So simple and pretty - a perfect antidote to the complex world of toddlers.

Some days absolutely NOTHING suits - thankfully those moments are few and far between in Owen's world -
You are a very clever mum Erin. I learnt from my lot that distraction is often the key, don't lose your cool and always remember how much you love them. Some days it is not easy being a mum! and then there are times like the red tulip :o)
