Evening
Today was the anniversary of our first date - the one that started it all - so we piled the kids in the car and went to Red Robin for dinner. Fourteen years ago we went on a blind date to the zoo and it's been all downhill from there! Funny to think we'd never dated anyone until then. I'd gone on a few dates, but none that were worth remembering (some I wish I could forget!). I don't think anyone expected us to last once I went away to college, but it was meant to be. Besides, two hours isn't a great distance, really. I remember not wanting to take the train back to school Sunday evenings after spending the weekend at home and JJ would drive me down so we could spend more time together - then have to make the long drive home all alone. Now THAT'S love.

How beautiful:)
My memories of you in college are not just memories of Erin. They are of Erin and her JJ, though in fact I met him only once and for about 30 seconds. You enjoyed your college times, but you seemed to live for those weekends with your boy. You were the only person I knew who was dating her high school sweetheart, and your relationship always seemed so grown-up while at the same time so much more romantic than the college dating and meat marketing that was going on around us. You talked about JJ with such certainty. It makes me smile to think of it, and to think of you now, 14 years later (sheesh) with you happy home and two sweet boys.
